Summer's evening music wafts over the Presby

FREE MUSIC AT THE PRESBY: Dr. James Ogden put on an evening of piano music with vocals by Mary Jo Olson Thursday at the Presby Museum.

Dozens of people gathered on the porch and lawn of the Presby Mansion Thursday evening to hear Dr. Jim Ogden play some old fashioned music on a battered old piano. The free concert was a derivative of a show he has put on the last few summers with fellow musician Paul Schneider, called Two Accordions. Unfortunately, Schneider recently suffered a shoulder injury that has kept him off the squeezebox for a few months, so Ogden was forced to make some adjustments.

This time a piano was substituted for the accordions, though the logistics of moving the 500-pound instrument to the porch prompted a unique and decidedly rural solution. The piano was loaded from Ogden’s home into the truck bed...
