Plan entries for Trout Lake Fair first weekend in August

Trout Lake News

With plenty of sunshine over the Fourth of July, the weekend was busy here in Trout Lake. The Saturday Market which included a quilt sale was packed with shoppers looking at local goods, and eating the wonderful food. Elsewhere, campers, hikers, and swimmers were out in full force enjoying all that Trout Lake has to offer including the annual fireworks display at Jonah Ministries.

This month the TLC Senior Dinner has been moved to the third Thursday for July only. So, July 11 meal will be on July 18. Meal doors open at 4 p.m. for socializing and music. Dinner is served at 5 p.m. The July 18 menu is creamed tuna on homemade buttermilk biscuits, steamed vegetables, fresh fruit salad, and triple chocolate brownies. Yum!

Also coming up is the Annual Trout Lake Fair Weekend – Aug. 2, 3 and 4. Friday is the community potluck and Saturday is fair day – starting with pancake breakfast, early morning 5k-10k and fun run. The parade starts at 11 a.m. and the fair activities at Jonah Ministries start right after the parade. (Including zip line, pedal tractor pull, auctions, lots of kids games, great food and music). Sunday is community worship. It’s also a great time right now to start planning for your contest entry – will it be a bake good, veggies and flowers, photos or something sewn or made? Full details and fair contest rules are listed on the Trout Lake Fair web-site
