Fun for all but the handicapped

To the Editor

By all accounts, Community Days was a big success, except for one group of people—the handicapped.

Why were the handicapped dismissed as not interested in coming to Community Days? I never found handicapped parking that was close to the festivities and rides, only at street closures where the handicapped parking spaces were located. And I do believe that Mt. Adams Transportation was closed for the duration of Community Days, so there was no transportation to the festivities.

So it was a great time for everyone except the handicapped. Wish I could’ve been there. Maybe next year, they’ll allocate some handicapped parking when they close access to the streets that have it.
