Golden Art Gallery migrates to new quarters

RIGHT AT HOME: Jim Walter stands in the array of artwork now gracing the new home of the Golden Art Gallery. The gallery moved from Main Street to 614 S. Columbus Avenue in the wake of rent hikes.

The Golden Art Gallery has changed locations as of July 1. The move from their former location on Main Street to 614 South Columbus next to CarQuest was swift. The bulk of the gallery was moved within a few days. Many volunteers helped with the move, and the turnout was more than the Art Gallery members expected.

Jim Walter expresses, “We started in earnest on the first of July. We packed up and were ready to go in the truck; we had a U-Haul truck waiting on Tuesday [and] we got a number of people to help. We depend on community help for a lot of things. There are still some things to be done, but we are up and operating.”

Walter has been president of the Golden Art Gallery since 2009...
