Geneva Ward Wyatt



Geneva Lorraine Brown was born in Centerville, Wash., on Nov. 25, 1919 to Mabel (Day) and Alva Leroy Brown. Early in her life, Geneva’s family moved around a lot. She married Thurman Ward in Goldendale on June 8, 1938. He passed away on Jan. 14, 1996 and she later married Edward Wyatt, who died in October of 2011.

Geneva was a member of the Church of Christ, also attended the Columbus Avenue Baptist Church with Ed. Most recently she attended the New Life Assembly of God. She loved flowers, candles, bird watching, the outdoors, holding babies and people.

Mrs. Wyatt passed away on July 22, 2013 in The Dalles, Ore., at the age of 93.

She is survived by her sons Gary Ward and his wife Sue of Goldendale and Donald Ward and his wife Marianella of San Diego; daughter Marsha Barnett and husband Bob of Goldendale; brother Keith Brown of The Dalles; sisters Rita Stratton of The Dalles and Edythe Vogt of Goldendale; stepdaughters Twyla Outhier of Vancouver and Jaree Maturo of Chico, Calif .; five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husbands Thurman Ward and Edward Wyatt; brother Orris Brown and sisters Vena May Springer and Vina Mae Williams.

A memorial service was held at New Life Assembly of God Church in Goldendale on July 25. Burial was private at Mt. View Cemetery. Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel handled arrangements.
