Workers and hospital saved my dad

Letter to the Editor


To the Editor:

Goldendale gets a bad rap so often. I hear things like, “You know how those Goldendale people are!”

But on July 2 around 2 p.m. I drove from my home in north Richland to do errands with my little brother. Our father, 85, is a resident of Goldendale, for 50 years now. He went outside to see what the construction was behind the courthouse. Outside on the sidewalk, dad fell down—all six feet of him, face first.

It just so happened that four construction workers were driving down the block, and they saw father going down. They jumped out of their truck and ran to his aid.

They got a chair off a porch and found a cold bottle of water for him. Later that night they took dad...
