Fred Boyce



Fred Louis Boyce, Sr. passed away August 10, 2013 at his home in Goldendale, Washington at the age of 71.

Having Chippewa and Cree Indian heritage, he was born on a reservation in Boise, Idaho on April 12, 1942 to Viva (Nadue) and Cecil Louis Boyce. Fred attended public school then private Christian school during his youth. He farmed before joining the United States National Guard in 1962 where he served in the German Conflict. After his service, Mr. Boyce held different jobs, working for Cascade Publishing for 21 years and also running his own business until his health deteriorated.

He married Patricia Lee Bentley in Vancouver on August 23, 1983. The couple lived in Wishram and Klickitat before settling in Goldendale in 1988. Fred was a crossing guard at the school and enjoyed coaching little league baseball. He also liked fishing, hunting, football and baseball.

Mr. Boyce is survived by his wife Patricia of Goldendale; sons Fred Boyce, Jr. and Tom Boyce both of Goldendale and Mitchell Pizer of Spokane; daughters Tammy Rush of Vancouver, Patricia Ruehl and Sunday Sutton both of Goldendale and Nikki Boyce of Walla Walla; brothers Jack and Charles; sisters Maria and Ravina; 18 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son Michael Campbell, daughter Legean Boyce, and siblings Cecil, Tom, Carl, Vonda, Barbara, Merrien, Carol and Georgia.
