Lady Wolves a versatile and athletic team

VERSATILITY: Roles will be well-defined for the Lady Timberwolf volleyball team, but perhaps more so this year than the past, expect more variety, blurring the roles of hitters, passers and setters. Above, middle hitter Madison Holbrook passes to Hannah Hoffman, during practice.

Friday was a tough day for the girls at Goldendale. Friday was cut day for the volleyball team. After five days of giving their all at practice, some of the girls had to make other plans for their fall, as they learned they would not be playing volleyball this year.

It is a combination of the program success and declining enrollment that created a situation where there are more girls out for volleyball than they could realistically play in varsity and junior varsity matches. Partly for budget reasons related to the enrollment decline at Goldendale and partly due to the lack of teams to play, there will be no “C squad” this year.
