Northwest Homesteading Fair returns to Lyle

FUN ON THE HOMESTEAD: Last year’s Homesteading Fair featured fun cart rides for kids, in addition to lots of other entertainment, games, and activities.

The second annual Northwest Homesteading Fair is coming to the Gorge on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The fair will take place at the old elementary school and green space on Highway 14 in Lyle.

The fair offers free workshops on topics ranging from sausage making and fly-fishing to sock knitting and gardening. There will also be live music all day from Mandy Fickett, Kit Garoutte, Spilt Milk, and others.

“Last year was so much fun, people traveled to the event from around the northwest—we even had people come in from Idaho,” explains co-organizer Amanda Richards. “There is just so much at the fair—something for everyone, so people will travel for it.”
