This week’s beautiful weather helps make rainy September fade into our memories. Doug Daniels, who measured and recorded rainfall for the National Weather Service for more than 40 years, reported a few interesting facts about our rainy September, 2013. For the past 17 years, Doug has tracked monthly precipitation figures. Prior to 2013, September rainfall for the past 17 years totaled 10.28 inches; and averaged .6 of an inch for each September. The highest September rainfall was 2.7 inches in 1997. Well, this September’s accumulation changed the average and high by a long shot. In Glenwood we received 5.45 inches of rainfall this September changing the cumulative average to .87 inch...
