Record return of salmon ups limit, extends season on Klickitat River


Record return of chinook salmon to the Columbia River and Klickitat Rvier has led the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife to announce that up to four adult chinook salmon may be retained and the upper Klickitat River will be open for an additional month, from Oct. 11 through. Nov. 30.

The action sites record high numbers of bright stock, fall chinook in the Klicktiat River. Surplus hatchery fish are available beyond the escapement needs, according to the report. The daily limit for salmon is six fish with up to four adult chinook and the notice states “any fish, adipose fin clipped or not, may be retained.”
