Bickleton looks to send team of runners to State

RUN IN THE PARK: Qi Cathy Kan leads a Zillah runner and Goldendale's Natalie Hurst during the first mile of last Thursday's meet in Goldendale.

Bickleton runners turned in another top performance at a SCAC conference cross country meet last Thursday in Granger. Troy Roberts had a second place finish in 16 minutes 46 seconds for the 5,000 meter race. Andrew Gannon placed seventh in 17:16.

The Pirates hope to send a team to this year's State cross country meet. They will have their qualifying shot on Nov. 2, at Walla Walla State Point Park in Wenatchee, the site of the District 5 and District 6, 1B and 2B meet. The races start at 1 p.m. Others who will look to help Bickleton qualify a team are Joey Cardenas (12th at Granger), Joseph Cummings (22nd at Granger), Kenny Allenton (29th at Granger) and Cody Allenton (36th at Granger).
