Lady Wolves finish strong for third seed

AIRBORNE: Sawyer Ross goes high for a smash against Granger. The Timberwolves improved their hitting against the league in every match the second time through the schedule.

Goldendale completed a convincing second half run to claim a spot in the District volleyball playoffs. The Wolves defeated Granger 3-1 on Thursday to break a three-way tie and claim the third seed in the tournament, which started on Tuesday. The Wolves traveled to Columbia-Burbank.

Goldendale's win and a loss by La Salle to Naches Valley put La Salle and Granger in a play-in game in Goldendale last Saturday, which was won by La Salle in five games. The Lightning traveled to Connell on Tuesday as the fourth seeded team in the west versus the undefeated champion of the SCAC east, Connell. The other two Tuesday matches were Ki-Be at SCAC west number two seeded Zillah and Warden at SCAC west...
