Chainsaw theft and sale leads to felony arrest

Investigation by Goldendale Police led to the quick resolution of theft of a chainsaw last week. Officer Mike Smith followed leads to a Glenwood man who had recently purchased a chainsaw. Learning that the saw was stolen, the man returned the saw to Goldendale and identified Richard Siglin, 26 of Goldendale, as the man who sold the saw.

Siglin at first denied knowledge of the saw, but when confronted with the evidence against him, he admitted to the crime. The theft was a gross misdemeanor, but since he sold the saw the charge escalated to felony trafficking stolen property. Siglin was also cited for driving with a suspended license.
