Friends of the Gorge and National Park Service meet to discuss expanding Lyle trail system

On Wednesday, Nov 20, a meeting was held at the Lyle Activity Center regarding the proposed Lyle Community Trail System Project, orchestrated by Friends of the Gorge (FOG) and facilitated by a representative/planner from the National Parks Service (NPS). This was promoted as a community led effort but in truth it was the third meeting with none publicly advertised. Scuttlebutt brought it to the attention of concerned citizens, and out of 29 attending there were 21 very concerned local residents. They learned the major land owners are FOG and Dept. of Natural Resources (DNR) who are attempting to solicit willing adjacent land owners for yet more trails. Mind you, there are already, within...
