Speak up on marijuana

To the Editor:

On Oct. 15 the Klickitat County Commissioners placed a six-month moratorium on any businesses opening in the county that have anything to do with I-502, the new law that has made marijuana legal in the State of Washington.

The moratorium will have no effect on how many people use marijuana, but it will affect how they have to buy it. If there are no regulated businesses allowed to grow, process, or sell highly taxed legal pot, consumers will still purchase from dealers on the black market. These dealers do not pay taxes on their earnings. There is no testing or standard that must be met on the products they sell. Not allowing legitimate businesses to be licensed in Klickita...
