City hears on crime, poaching, fire volunteers


The Goldendale City Council met Monday evening to talk crime and utility payments and to hear a presentation from the Goldendale Firefighter’s Association.

Scott Randall, interim president of the firefighter’s association and volunteer city firefighter, addressed the council about some of the needs of the department. He explained that it was the feeling of many in the association that the Goldendale Fire Department (GFD) is severely understaffed. According to Randall, the current list of firefighters on the city roster does not accurately portray the number that are available to actually show up and fight a fire.
