Cultural Event showcases native culture



WISHRAM SCHOOL FESTIVITIES: Wishram student Quincy McConville shows his porcupine headdress at the Wishram School's 13th annual Cultural Event featuring Native American dress, dance, and culture.

"Did you see the size of those salmon?" marveled many in the preparation phase for Wishram's 13th annual Cultural Event. Wilbur Slockish, Chief of the Klickitats, commented, "We've had many poor years with the salmon, but this year was a good run. We must be doing something right."

Many hands go into the preparation of the thankful annual celebration held on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving every year. SDS Lumber, Wilbur Slockish, and Wishram School were major sponsors, and Jason Spadero of SDS Lumber attends our event every year.
