Pirates sweep Spartan JV in thrillers at Bickleton

A great night of shooting was on display in Bickleton, Saturday night as the Pirates swept the Granger JV teams 75-71 for the boys and 40-38 in the girls' game.

Granger's boys owned the boards in the first quarter and invested a lot in three-point shots, keeping a lead for most of the game. Bickleton took away the rebounding edge in the second quarter thanks to the work of Michael Underwood and Nathan Powers and the teams were even on the boards for the rest of the game.

Turnovers were an important part of the Bickleton win. After tossing it away 14 times in the first half, the Pirates had only six turnovers for the entire second half. Powers and Troy Roberts broke the Spartan press time...
