League sweep for Lady Wolves, boys post first win

MAKING THINGS HAPPEN: Cheyenne Smith attacks after taking an inbounds pass from Kirstin Twohy, behind Smith. Smith set the Wolves' offense and scored most of their points in a two day sweep over Cle Elum-Roslyn and Highland, above.

After a rough week, losing three straight games and two players, the Lady Timberwolves opened league play with a pair of wins to take a 2-0 record into the Christmas break.

Cle Elum-Roslyn traveled to Goldendale on Friday night in a game that came down to the wire before the Lady Wolves put it away at the foul line for a 42-38 win. At times, Goldendale had trouble dealing with the size of the Warriors who clogged up the key and blocked seven Timberwolf shots.

Kirstin Twohy and Cheyenne Smith dominated the game in the fourth quarter with Twohy collecting 10 of her game high 22 rebounds in the quarter and Smith hitting 5-6 from the foul line for her 16 point total that led all scorers. Ocea...
