Dottie Schuller

Dorothy Regina Schuller

86 Years

(Aug. 4-1927 to Dec. 25-2013)

If you’ve ever met Dottie you’d remember her infectious smile and winsome way. The Lord gifted her to enter into His presence on Christmas Day 2013 to celebrate His Big Birthday.

The Lord gave her the spark of life in Philadelphia in the year 1927 to a recently immigrated couple from Romania. They were Stephen and Johanna Eckhardt (nee Mueller). Dottie, when in the sixth grade announced to her parents one day, “I think I’ll become a nurse.” And she did. Just as World War II was ending she studied nursing for three years at the Rhode Island School of Nursing.

Her desire was to become a medical missionary, but meeting her future husband at Valparaiso University changed all that. He was Dick Schuller and they were married in 1951 in Providence, RI.

Soon their son Rick was born and the wandering spirit of Dick led them to Alaska where Linda was born and then Annette. They lived in Alaska for 13 years where Dick taught school and Dottie did all types of nursing.

They moved to Worland, Wyoming. Dottie loved to paint, sew and cook for friends and visitors who came to church.

She loved the Lord more than anything else. Her service in church and volunteering to help others was a gift to many. Her health in later years declined with many falls and a poor heart, but she never complained.

How do I, the writer know? I was married to this wonderful woman for 62 years. Thank you Lord!

Her family whom she loved includes:

Husband, Dick Schuller (married July 14, 1951)

Children, Rev. Rick Schuller (Gema), Linda Knaggs (Kirk), and Annette Lane (Greg)

Grandchildren: David Knaggs, Sheila Grubb, Rev. Isaac Schuller, Natalie Schuller, Becky Davis, Angie Robinson

Great-grandchildren: Josh, Izzy, Bobby and Quinn Knaggs; Josh and Jeremiah Robinson; Taylor, Myka, Boyd and Ryker Davis.

In celebration of her life, please send any gifts to Gospel for Asia. 1800 Golden Trail Court, Carrolton, TX 75010
