Kyle Wilkins wins Christmas tournament at Royal City

Kyle Wilkins went 2-0 at the Royal City Christmas Tournament, last week and claimed the 182 pound title. It was the only win for Goldendale, but four other Timberwolves placed.

Dean Enstad and Jakeb Partlow each went 2-1 at the tournament, Enstad placing third at 152 pounds and Partlow with a fourth place finish at 195 pounds. Also placing for Goldendale were Zane Cully, fourth at 220 pounds with a 1-1 record and Reggie Sargeant, fifth at 220 pounds with a 1-2 record.

Two other Wolves had a pair of wins in the tournament, but fell short or the top five. Daniel Wedgwood was 2-2 at 145 pounds and Trent Radway was 2-2 at 170 pounds. Records of 1-2 went to Bryce Wilkins, Demetrius McCoy and Cameron Read. Leroy Miller, Nick Dix and Ruben Finn were 0-2 and Colby Valladares was 0-1 in a meet described by Coach Omar Flores, as “rough on our young wrestlers.”

The Wolves are back in action on Jan. 7 with a double dual, non-league match against Toppenish and Stevenson in Goldendale.
