Goldendale resident named CEO of hospital in Kenya



NEW LEADERS: Jim Monroe and wife Sue Owen are taking leadership roles at Maua Hospital.

Jim Monroe of Goldendale has been named CEO of Maua Methodist Hospital (MMH) in Maua, Kenya.

His initial appointment is as interim CEO while Jeremiah Mailutha, current CEO, completes his remaining responsibilities. Monroe's position as CEO becomes permanent upon ratification by the hospital board of directors.

Monroe's wife, Sue Owen, was also named Mission Coordinator for the hospital , assuming responsibilities for mission team coordination and hosting.

Monroe and Owen are retired United Methodist ministers who own property near Goldendale. After frequent visits to Kenya, they began regular involvement with the hospital.
