Songer's remarks are unbecoming

To the Editor:

Mr. Bob Songer, whose service no one has slighted, has made some harsh accusations. He claims the sheriff and undersheriff eliminated his position and harassed a union leader for political reasons. If these claims are true, should he not seek a wrongful termination lawsuit? If not, it is unbecoming for a candidate for sheriff to slander someone’s integrity with conspiratorial accusations.

I have enormous respect for Undersheriff Boardman. He is an example of professionalism and one of the three men with the most integrity I know. If he said it is an unfortunate coincidence, I trust him. The fact that the people, processes, and schedules involved agree with his story are m...

The Bible says we are to let our Yes be Yes and our No be No. In other words, if what we say is true, we're to simply say it and let it stand. No need to swear on our mother's grave, etc. I know Marc Boardman. He's been my brother for 53 years. If he says that Songer's commission being rescinded was not politically motivated, take it to the bank. It was NOT.
