Goldendale is a helpful town

To the Editor:

My wife and I had no intention of stopping in Goldendale late Friday afternoon, Jan. 17, on our way from Vancouver to East Wenatchee, but an overheated engine caused by radiator problems changed all that.

We limped into town from near Biggs Junction, stopping regularly to let the engine cool—especially on the hill up from the Columbia River. A nice man headed to his home in Sunnyside stopped to see if he could be of assistance. He followed us to Goldendale at 30 mph with his emergency lights flashing.

In town, we found DT Fast Lube and U-Haul on Broadway still open. As darkness closed in, Terry Luth, the owner with his wife Deanna, was extremely sympathetic, helpful and...
