Knights stave off Cougar upset bid in decisive third quarter

After a quarter of play, upset was in the air at Lyle as the Lyle-Wishram Cougars held a 15-12 lead over Sunnyside Christian. In fact, the Knights were fortunate to be that close as Lyle-Wishram seemed to move through the defense with ease, collecting accurate passes that led to easy shots at the rim. Even the second quarter, although not great for the Cougars, was better than what Sunnyside Christian was experiencing, until Wyatt Hoff put in a three-point buzzer beater to cut the lead to 21-20.

But, any notion of an upset quickly slipped through the Cougars' hands as Joel Martin hit a three to start the third quarter and the Knights continued to pull away for a 50-39 win. Martin's basket...
