Slow starts plague Wolves, stuck at one win


Goldendale lost games to Cle Elum-Roslyn and Highland in a familiar fashion last weekend, falling behind early then playing their opponent even to the end.

Cle Elum jumped on top 22-6 on their home court, then held on for a 61-51 win. Kenner Milliren led the Wolves with 21 points and Ben Cochran was in double figures with 12. The Wolves were hampered by 28 turnovers in the game and were beaten on the boards by the Warriors. The teams are tied at the bottom of the SCAC west division with 1-8 records, each one with a win over the other.

Saturday night was Highland’s turn at the middle school in Toppenish where they opened with a 13-4 first quarter lead. The Scotties didn’t need late gam...
