Russell Wilson was the obvious choice for NFL MVP, not Peyton Manning. The NFL got it wrong.

The mistake is the product of selecting the MVP at the conclusion of the regular season, as if the post season play is unrelated to what happened in the first 16 games. It would be as if NASCAR named Matt Kenseth their MVP driver after the first 26 races and Jimmy Johnson’s domination of the final 10, which gave him the actual championship, didn’t count.

Based on a rational analysis and understanding of the word “valuable,” Russell Wilson would have been an easy selection if the NFL chose their MVP in a rational manner.
