Body in Simcoes found


The body of Robert S. Carroll was recovered from a location off Wilson Charley Road in the Simcoes on Feb. 12, according to Sheriff’s Deputy Pat Kaley.

Carroll and Bobby Falken-Hagen became stranded between 10 and 12 miles off SR97 the previous week. Falken-Hagen eventually hiked out and was taken to a Seattle area hospital. His condition is unknown.

Falken-Hagen reported that Carroll had died when the pair tried to hike out after their vehicle became stuck. Klickitat County Search and Rescue (KCSR) had a snow mobile breakdown during the initial search for Carroll. Carroll’s body was discovered when KCSR returned to the area to recover their snow mobile.
