Cougars beat Knights and Pirates over Vandals to settle league placings

Lost in the more pressing story of the District 5, 1B tournament was quite a story of a basketball rarity when Lyle-Wishram defeated Sunnyside Christian in Sunnyside to create a three-way tie for the Greater Columbia Gorge League boys' basketball title. The game, originally scheduled for Feb. 8, was played on Feb. 12.

Not only was the three-way tie between Lyle-Wishram, Sunnyside Christian and Yakama Nation unusual, the fact Sunnyside Christian lost two games this season to league opponents was also a first.
