Cougars can't double up on upset of Sunnyside Christian

There was a packed house in Goldendale for the District 5, 1B playoffs last weekend. No doubt one of the reasons was the close race for the two Regional berths among the boys' teams from Sunnyside Christian, Yakama Nation and Lyle-Wishram. The three schools finished the regular season with a three-way, 8-2 tie, fueling anticipation for some great basketball.

Sunnyside Christian is a power-house in 1B. They are the defending State champions. Last year was their eighth state title and they have a 38-9 record at the State tournament since the 2000-01 season. This year they lost two games in their own league and Yakama Nation and Lyle-Wishram were eager to see if they could put a halt to thei...
