Tri-Cities area men killed in single car wreck on SR14


Two men were killed in a single car wreck on SR14, Feb. 15 around 12:38 p.m. According to the Washington State Patrol, Khamphouk K. Phongsa, 51, of Richland was driving a 2007 Subaru Impreza westbound on SR14 when the vehicle crossed the highway near milepost 108 and left the roadway to the south. The vehicle traveled approximately 100 feet down a steep, rocky embankment, overturned and came to rest against a fence.

The report says that Phongsa and a passenger, Adalif Mendoza, 53, of Burbank were both deceased at the scene. The cause is under investigation. Drugs and alcohol were not involved, and both men were wearing seat belts.
