Eagles end Regional hopes of Mustangs and Cougars

Lyle-Wishram's dreams of advancing to regional play came to an end last week with a 58-37 loss to Yakama Nation in the District 5 basketball tournament. It was a sad ending to a great season in which the Cougars managed a landmark win over Sunnyside Christian. In fact, back-to-back wins over the Yakama Nation and the Knights to close out league play had the team rightfully expecting to compete for a regional berth.

The Cougars entered their final game without their number one scorer Jonathan Von Ahn who was also second on the team in rebounds. A lot of that scoring burden was placed on senior John Stephens, who responded by doubling his season's average scoring to lead the Cougars with 14...
