GHS robotics team qualifies for VEX Robotics World Championship

After competing in six robotics tournaments held throughout the Yakima Valley, Goldendale High School (GHS) has a robotics team bound for Anaheim and the world championships of robotics, being held next month.

Matthew Blomquist, Wyatt Mercer, Stephen Sharp, and Ricky Shurtleff wrapped up the qualifying contest at a recent VEX, the organization that holds such events, competition.

"At the most recent VEX tournament, they scored 48 points during the one-minute Skills Challenge," says GHS STEM teacher Matt Merfeld.
