55 mph down Main St. just the beginning of high speed chase


A wild chase began in the middle of downtown Goldendale, Wednesday last week, when Lt. Reggie Bartkowski attempted to stop a driver to give him a warning for speeding on South Columbus Ave. With speeds up to 55 mph on East Main Street and in excess of 100 mph on SR97, it was fortunate no one was injured.

It began with a call about two men in a car in front of a residence. The men were believed to be “very high,” as a dispatcher reported. Bartkowski responded to the call, but the vehicle had left by the time the officer arrived.
