Bears put big numbers on board in sweep over Lady Timberwolves

NOTHING CHEAP: Sierra Lamping gobbled up everything short from her pitching position. Lamping to first baseman, Kirstin Twohy accounted for five of game one put-outs.

The Lady Timberwolves dropped a pair of games to the Lady Bears of Kiona-Benton in the opening games for both teams, played in Goldendale on a calm and sunny Saturday. It was a double-header that almost never happened, as Goldendale barely had the minimum number of players with enough practices. Making matters worse, Luna Oliveria was struck in the left cheek by a thrown ball, leaving an abrasion and a welt, but fortunately no broken bones or concussion.

Sierra Lamping shook off some wildness, walking the first batter, before putting some balls over the plate. The second and third batters singled, scoring two runs, but the defense did the job as the next three batters grounded out to Kail...
