The 'Invisible Servants'

Letter from the community

To the Editor:

Here in the geographical center of our community is a workforce doing their job 24/7. The cave-like setting where they must dwell for a long shift is located in the bowels of the courthouse. To the largest percentage of citizens, this place is pretty much “out of sight, thus out of mind.” The jail, as it is called, requires special training and special people to perform a task that often is not very pleasant.

These workers are doing a job that very seldom, if ever, gets some recognition for their efforts. We all, as a community, should give a heartfelt “hats off” to honor this group of “Invisible Servants”—the Jailers.
