Anthony Hernandez honored for gift of life


Former Wishram resident and volunteer fire fighter Andrew Hernandez and five others were honored on April 15, posthumously with an award from Governor Jay Inslee acknowledging the lives they saved through organ donation.

Hernandez joins a victim of the Cafe Racer shooting from Seattle, a successful Spokane businessman, an Iraqi war veteran from Fort Lewis, a Western Washington mother of two, and a young man from Vancouver who loved biking. They were all Washington residents, all organ donors, and all heroes. Together, their gifts gave 23 people a second chance at life.
