More candidates enter state rep race



Ben Shoval of Yakima entered the race for state representative at an event in Goldendale yesterday.

The problem with government, Ben Shoval says, is it tends to spend first and then tries to figure out how to cover its spending.

"We don't usually raise taxes and then find ways to spend the money," Shoval says. "We usually spend money and then have to raise taxes to pay for things."

To hear Shoval talk, one gets the feeling he thinks that's a dumb way to conduct government. If he has his way, that would change.
