Lady Timberwolves out-hit Spartans, lose double-header

Granger made the most of their opportunities on Saturday to take two games from the Lady Timberwolves 20-10 and 18-5. The final scores were decidedly lopsided, but the Wolves out-hit the Spartans in both games.

Goldendale has struggled to hit their stride in the early portions of the season, but their fielding and at times their hitting have given reason for optimism. Saturday's games were typical.

The Spartans had just five hits in the first game, three in the first inning, but they had a ton of base-runners and they put pressure on the Wolves with aggressive base-running. Sierra Lamping walked nine batters through five innings of work, but she also struck out eight. It was enough to kee...
