Lady Wolves strong at Yakima tournament while consistency makes boys team contenders


The week could hardly have gone better for Goldendale golfers. The boys and girls teams won their league matches at Royal City on April 22 and the girls took first place at the Wally Johnson invitational on Thursday with the boys taking second in the Wildhorse Tournament in Pendleton on Friday.

Bree Wanderscheid continued her steady game with a 78 to win at Royal City and pace the Lady Timberwolves in a 403 to 491 league win over Royal. Sawyer Ross shot a 96 for the Wolves. The team score was rounded out by Natalie Hurst’s 107 and Emily Hurst’s 122. Kate Hiebert shot 132.
