Farmers Market open Saturdays at Ekone Park



BRISK BUSINESS: It was a bit chilly for the first Farmers' Market of the year, last Saturday. The market will be open every Saturday in Ekone Park throughout the growing season.

Facing blustery weather, vendors and customers thronged to the Goldendale Farmers Market on Saturday for one of the most successful openings in recent years. Another such successful outing is planned for this coming Saturday.

Despite its name, farmers were in somewhat short supply at the Farmers Market last week. Not many crops had emerged in the Mid-Columbia. However, there were some notable artisan produces that could have been produced on the farm: freshly baked bread, pulled pork sandwiches, hand-made jewelry, home-roasted coffee beans, and much more. But some spring vegetables were available, such as salad greens from Tobiah Israel.
