Local WWII vets to board Honor Flight to Wash. D.C.


Three World War II veterans have been invited to be part of the honor flight to Washington D.C. Wayne Eames, U.S. Merchant Marines, Harold Bickle, U.S. Army, and Al Messenger, U.S. Navy will be part of a group of 164 veterans who are being flown, all expenses paid to Washington D.C. on May 27. The group will tour the war memorials and changing of the guard at the Arlington National Cemetery. It will be a whirlwind tour, according to Messenger, who says the group will fly out of Spokane on the 27th and return to Spokane on May 28. According to Messenger, Eames had applied for the trip some time ago and was recently contacted to say he was included. He asked to bring a couple of his friends...
