Golf tournament earns $1500 for Goldendale senior scholarships


A large turnout for the Goldendale Golf Club’s Lowell Erland Memorial Scholarship Tournament was good news for Goldendale seniors who benefit from the scholarship which helps one or two seniors attend college each year. Sixty entries meant about $1,500 were added to the endowed fund.

The winning team from this year’s scramble was the foursome of Lonnie Drollinger, Dan Morrison, Dennis Wiedemeier and Hoby Streich. Streich also won the closest to the pin on the fourth hole, along with Brad Bellamy on the second time around. Roger Telford won the closest to the pin on the ninth. Matt Counts was the winner of longest putt.
