Marjorie Taylor

Marjorie Delores Taylor, age 96, of Goldendale, passed away on May 18, 2014.

She was born Sept. 9, 1917 to Kassin and Ora Shelton. She is predeceased by her parents; her sister, Virginia Matson; twin brother, Jim Shelton and younger brother Joe Shelton.

Marjorie is survived by her beloved husband, Wallace Taylor. Together, they enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping throughout the Pacific Northwest. Avid gardeners, their home was always filled with fresh vegetables and beautiful flowers. Marjorie also leaves behind her son, Steve Campbell; daughter Cheryl (Kent) Huntington; grandson Sean (Shellie) Huntington; great-grandchildren Haley and Jason; granddaughter Kimber (Ryan) Webb; great-grandchildren Andrus and Adele, and many nieces and nephews of the Shelton and Matson family. Her family was a great source of pride and enjoyment.

Marjorie worked in retail and as a telephone operator. Before losing most of her sight, she was a voracious reader and dabbled in art and philosophy. As a self-proclaimed “black sheep,” Marj was not afraid to express herself with zeal.

Marjorie requested a private ceremony with her family. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her over the past couple of years, especially the ladies of Klickitat Home Healthcare and a special thank you to her beloved sister-in-law Neva and Dick Wheelhouse, for their kindness.
