Another overturned truck

Rachel Olp

Maybe a sign should be posted at each end of a stretch of SR14 between Murdock and the Maryhill Winery, reporting a tally of overturned trucks. Truck accidents are common place, particularly in the bends around Wishram, suggesting drivers either don't respect the consequences of speed or inattention while enjoying the beautiful scenery. The latest truck wreck was May 30 around noon, at milepost 90, where the 1999 Kenworth tractor and trailer, above, struck a shallow ditch and overcorrected, according to the Washington State Patrol, resulting in a rollover. The driver, Richard D. Hieb, of Graham was cited for wheels off roadway. Hieb was uninjured.
