Mike took up golfing and for a while was a Golf Pro in CA.

In 1969 He married Mary Johnson (Merla Johnson) of Goldendale WA. They moved to southern CA, where for a while Mike owned a book store. While living in CA Michael Jr and DeAnna were born. A few years later they moved to AZ, where Mike worked for an awning company. While living in AZ, Sarah and Jacob were born. After a few years Mike and Mary decided to return to their hometown of Goldendale to raise their family. After returning to Goldendale Mike worked for a wonderful organization called New Hope Farm. Mike worked there till he retired in 2006. Upon retiring he moved to Helena MT to be near his children and grandchildren.
