Two significant events are coming to Goldendale this week. The annual Maryhill Festival of Speed returns today through Sunday as people from around the world converge to test the limits of gravity, equipment, and their own skill. They'll be at the Maryhill Loops Road, and the derring-do is all free to the public. Also pulling (more leisurely) into town on Friday, June 27, are the Horseless Carriages, a group of very well-kept geezer cars on their 49th annual three-day scenic tour. Participants will drive 35 classic cars, circa 1911 through 1932, from a Model T to a Packard. Club members would love to meet the people of Goldendale and talk about their cars.
