Soroptimists raise funds for scholarships

The Goldendale area Soroptimist Chapter hosted a festive Tea Party and Silent Auction this past Saturday afternoon at Christ the King Lutheran Church.

This event, in its second year, was filled to capacity with fancy ladies and their dashing escorts who gathered to drink tea with pinky extended in order to raise funds for the organization's scholarship fund.

Tables festooned with beautiful linens, gleaming china, and English tea accoutrement beckoned to the sequined set as they examined silent auction items as piano music played in the background. Those sporting bare heads were able to rent a bedazzled hat during the event for the bargain price of $5.
