A one car accident took the life of Walter S. Clawson, 72, of Lyle on June 25 around 11:15 p.m. The accident took place near milepost 12 on the Centerville Highway, according to the Klickitat County Sheriff’s Office. High Prairie Fire Department was called to the scene of a burning car. Once the fire was extinguished, deputies discovered Clawson inside the car. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
